Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Contact Our Staff We Fight With You! Breast cancer affects many lives in our community, and we are on a mission to help find a cure. Preston Automotive Group (PAG) proudly supports the people diagnosed and their family members’ inspirational fight. We are driven and dedicated to raising as much awareness and funds as possible to cease this disease. In October 2014, we launched our initial “Leap For a Cure” program. This annual event donates $50 per vehicle sold to the American Cancer Society. Plus, every purchaser receives a pink frog as a token for supporting our cause. Last year we sold 252 cars across PAG, raising a total of $12,600! Visit Boulevard Ford of Georgetown and the PAG family of dealerships to support the fight against breast cancer and purchase your next vehicle. The Pink Frog Our first special-edition pink Preston Frog was introduced in October 2014 to honor our dearly loved PAG employee Diana Vincent. Diana organized various breast cancer awareness events at our dealerships before passing in 2017. We now dress in pink every Friday and “Paint the Plex Pink” every October in remembrance of Diana and the millions suffering from breast cancer. “1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival.” — The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. Driven To Inspire In 2016, the American Cancer Society honored our PAG family as a Community Partner for their “Driven To Inspire” event. We wrap a Ford F-150 pickup truck model in pink and show up at local events to have guests and associates sign the exterior. Be a part of the “Leap For a Cure” program by visiting Boulevard Ford of Georgetown and the PAG family of dealerships this October! We hope to see you there!

How To Drive Safely In The Snow

Contact Our Service Team Break Through The Ice Though it is safest to stay home when it snows, sometimes life requires us to face the challenge. Gear up for this year’s snow season with confidence by reading over our advice on driving safely in the snow. The professionals at Boulevard Ford of Georgetown want you to be equipped for winter driving in DE, and what better way to prepare than study the best approaches to take when steering through snowy roads. Check out our tips on winter driving in DE, so you are ready for Mother Nature’s Winter Wonderland. Drive Slowly and Smoothly Be one with the steering wheel, accelerator, and brake pedal. In other words, avoid sudden or jerking movements that could lead to your tires losing grip. Always account for lower traction, be deliberate, gradual, and gentle, making every motion with finesse while winter driving in DE. Brake Management Remember that it takes significantly longer to slow down on icy roads because stopping is slow and gradual. Coast as much as possible and increase your following distance by five to six seconds so that slowing down is safe. Apply steady pressure and only brake when necessary to avoid skidding. Fear Not The Skids Undoubtedly, you will face some skids, and we encourage you to keep cool and stay calm. Start by easing off the gas, then if you still feel yourself spinning out of control, quickly turn the wheel in the same direction as the rear is sliding. Hit the Hills Keep your acceleration and deceleration on check on flat roads, and especially on hills. Our service experts recommend looking far ahead to anticipate turns and snow-covered hills and try to get a little inertia building as you see one approaching. This way, you can avoid your wheels spinning and the potential of rolling backward. Reduce your speed as you approach the crest. Fit Snow Tires This survival tip can tremendously improve your safety margin and lower your anxiety level when it comes to DE winter driving. Fitting a set of snow tires or winter tires for your vehicle is the best way to provide more traction in the snow, slush, and ice. Visit our Boulevard Ford of Georgetown service center to inquire about snow tires, or chat with our sales staff about highly- capable Ford trucks and SUV models that include all-terrain tires, four-wheel-drive, and other snow-ready features!

Top Five Winter Maintenance Tips

Schedule Service Appointment Service Your Ford! Have you scheduled a maintenance plan for the change of the season? Winter is just a few weeks away, and the service team at Boulevard Ford of Georgetown wants to make sure your vehicle is ready for the cold. Have peace of mind by reading over our top five maintenance tips, then come and see us for winter auto care in Delaware! Examine Your Tires To ensure your tires are in solid condition for driving on ice and snow, place a penny headfirst into various tread grooves. If you always see Abraham Lincoln's whole head, you may need new tires. Perhaps consider snow tires for your purchase. We also suggest maintaining the required tire pressure and storing a jack and spare tire in your vehicle. Observe Your Brakes The way you apply your brakes can determine their durability. We encourage coasting while slowing down and regularly refreshing your brake fluid. While driving, listen for vibrating noises, grinding, and alerts that may appear, and let our certified Ford technicians know if anything seems amiss. Test Your Heating Unit Avoid shivering commutes by testing out your heating unit ahead of time. If you notice any odd smells filtering from the vent or leaking antifreeze on the passenger floor, book your winter auto care in Delaware today! Prioritize Oil Changes Your engine doesn't like to be cold or dry. A good rule of thumb is to have your oil changed every three months or 3,000 miles, but check your owner's manual for your specific model. Replenishing your oil is crucial for a healthy engine and to keep many other moving parts lubricated within your vehicle. Check Fluid Levels Lubrication not only keeps your engine and brakes smoothly operating, but it’s also essential to refill transmission fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, and to replace the hoses that they travel through. Our Delaware winter auto care protocol will make sure your fluid levels are at best. Stay safe this season and schedule your winter auto care in Delaware at Boulevard Ford of Georgetown today!

Its legacy traces roots back to 1966 when this pioneering off-road SUV model uniquely stamped the hearts and souls of thrill-seekers and war heroes, traversing through trout streams, trailheads, and ranches with ease. We are excited that there will be three body style offerings: the halo 2-door 2021 Ford Bronco, the first-ever 4-door 2021 Ford Bronco, and the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport taking the reins of the small SUV off-roading market. In 1963, leading designers Donald Frey and Lee Iacocca began engineering the Ford Bronco inspired by veterans using the rugged Army Jeep on farms, ranches, and suburbs. By 1965, their dream became a reality, establishing 1966 models: the all-purpose Ford Bronco Roadster, the Sport Utility Ford Bronco half cab, and the Ford Bronco Wagon. Known for being both a G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Terrain) and a highway driver, these one-of-a-kind models stampeded the scene for over a decade. The second-generation Ford Bronco (1978-1979) emerged to a more robust body-style sharing components with Ford F-Series pickups. This model year also introduced more luxurious offerings for families in suburbias but was soon replaced by a third-generation (1980-1986) body style boasting better fuel economy and more comfort. Generation 4 enters the "Aerodynamic Age," which lasted from 1987 to 1991 and included powertrain advancements and anti-lock braking technology. The fifth-generation rode out in style as designers dialed up the interior with premium sound and safety. Come on in and speak with our staff about how the groundbreaking 2021 Bronco measures up in originality and trusted 4X4 capability to its past life. Bronco Nation has a growing fan base and serves as a place for Bronco enthusiasts to connect. It has been cleared that the 2021 Ford Bronco passes Bronco Built Wild™ Extreme Testing measures consisting of agility, capability, durability, and maneuverability. You can look forward to signature features, including the CB radio, classic round headlamps, auxiliary gas tank, power take-off, and post-hole digger, and modern enhancements such as all-terrain tires, race-tested EcoBoost® turbocharged engines, and a cutting-edge suspension.
